HISTORY:
One of the GREEN LANTERN CORPS most intriguing mysteries revolves around the life and death of a Green Lantern whose mortal remains were found on the distant planet Twilo in the late 30th century.
The Green Lantern had died, presumably due to injuries sustained in battle near the planet Twilo. Falling to the world below, the Green Lantern's fiery descent was taken to be a meteor strike.
The next morning, Celeste McCauley of Earth was exploring the rugged countryside of Twilo and found the remains of the fallen Green Lantern. She saw the POWER RING on its finger and reached for it. The details of the following events are unclear. It is believed that the power ring exploded, somehow linking her with the Oan energy. McCauley's mind apparently blocked all recollection of the event.
[LSH4 # 12]
While the effect of the energy on McCauley was later studied by Brainiac 5 of the Legion of Super-Heroes, no further information has been learned regarding the Green Lantern Corps of the era. Presumably, this is due to a ban on Green Lantern activity in the United Planets territories.
Once the Time Trapper's so-called "Iron Curtain of Time" was removed during the Zero Hour event, the history of the main timeline and this 30th Century was restructured. It is doubtful the mystery of the Green Lantern of Twilo will ever be solved.
