Making a custom:
Hal Jordan in mechanic jumpsuit! (1 of 3)

You will need the following:

-9" Aquaman
-9" Nascar Dale Earnhardt Jr figure
-GI Joes Commander
-Mini locker

Start with the 9" Aquaman ($5) face. Surprising what a color change to the hair and eyebrows can do, huh? I got the idea while reading the last GL archives and thought, hmmmm, with the right hair color, Aquaman looks just like the SA Hal. Becareful when you cut the heads off! Note: if you cannot find a Dale Earnhardt Jr. figure, simply use Aquamans' body and repaint his hands.

The body's from a 9" Nascar Dale Earnhardt Jr figure ($3 clearance from Sears). He had the flesh hands and shoes so it was a no brainer. (Note: He may be hard to come by, so you can simply skip using him and just use Aquaman's body and repaint his hands.)

The grease monkey suit was from one of those 12" generic GI Joes ($10). It was the Commander one, I think. Anyway, that's why it seems a bit baggy though not too bad, I think.

The locker's was found on ebay, just type mini-locker or locker in the search. I then repainted it red and used some of those stickers it came with to put Hal's name over the screw holes. Inside the locker's pretty cool, cause it has an upper shelf for the power battery. I had a picture, but never got around to posting it. I just need to add a hanging pole or some hooks for clothing. That's pretty much it! Happy customizing!

Note: Try out other clothes for Hal, such as a flight suit or bomber jacket or a blue suit he liked wearing in the 60's...
Also, if you can't find a Dale Earnhardt Jr figure, simply use the Aquaman figure as you are only going to see the hands and boots. Repaint them. Try adding sunglasses or gloves too! I am also toying with the Helicopter flight suit that is available from 21st Century. Check out the Dragon Models F-15 fighter pilot figure. He is pricey at $39.99, but has the look of a real pilot.

Thanks to The Slayer for this! Well done!
